Trekking Route:

  • Starting Point: Traditionally, the trek starts from Besisahar. However, with the construction of roads, many trekkers now begin their journey from places like Chame or Jagat to avoid the motorable sections.
  • Ending Point: The trek can end in several places, such as Jomsom, where you can catch a flight back to Pokhara, or continue to Nayapul.

Challenges:

  • Altitude: The high altitude and the possibility of altitude sickness are significant challenges. Proper acclimatization is essential.
  • Weather: Weather conditions can be unpredictable, especially at higher altitudes. Trekkers should be prepared for sudden changes.
  • Physical Fitness: The trek is demanding and requires a good fitness level, especially given the long duration and the high altitudes involved.

Permits Required:

  • Annapurna Conservation Area Permit (ACAP): Required for entering the Annapurna region.
  • Trekkers’ Information Management System (TIMS) Card: Required for all trekkers in Nepal.

The Annapurna Circuit is often described as one of the best long-distance treks in the world due to its incredible diversity and richness of experience.
